SHERWIN COTLER

Sherwin Cotler is a clinical psychologist who lives in Olympia, Washington. He is currently the co-clinical Director of the Free Mental Health Clinic in Olympia and has a small private practice. He works with adolescents and adults, and he specializes in the areas of depression, anxiety, and trauma. Starting out as a child/adolescent psychologist, Sherwin has continuously championed efforts to help children live healthier lives, both physically and emotionally. That, in part, is what brought him to Starfish One by One.

He is a published author and photographer. In addition to his current volunteer work with Starfish, he also volunteers as a photographer with a non-profit research organization which studies whales and other marine mammals along the Pacific coast.

Sherwin is married and has four children. When not working or doing volunteer work, he tries to spend as much time as possible in the out-of-doors fly-fishing, kayaking, and taking photographs. Living with a sense of compassion, awareness, humor and giving something back to the world are four of his life goals.
